Pop Architecture Y’all!

Prada Marfa, designed by artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset, is a permanently installed, non-functional sculpture pretty much in the middle of nowhere north of Valentine, TX. Completed on October 1, 2005, the artists called the work a “pop architectural land art project” and it cost over $80,000.

Soon after its installation it was vandalized, its original merchandise (actual Prada bags and shoes) was stolen and vandals painted “Dum” and “Dum Dum” on the inside walls requiring it to be repaired.

Man, what I could’ve done with $80,000.
