Earlier this week, we took a short side trip on our way to the sock factory tour to explore ARTSPARK outside of Indianapolis. The park, which was designed by Indiana native and Target teapot designer Michael Graves (yeah, that guy) is located behind the Indianapolis Art Center in the Broad Ripple Village Cultural District.
There are 12 full acres and 27 sculpture crafted by Indiana artists that meld well with the serene setting of the park, the unimpressed wildlife and meandering river.
Very beautiful place. Some photos:
- Black Titan by John Andrew Spaulding (1985)
- Monumentalment by
- Children playing on the “Sometimes I Sits” chair by Michael Helbing (2005).
- The attention to detail is amazing.
- These little girls loved the little twisted storybook house.
- The reason we came, the renowned “Twisted House” by John McNaughton (2005).
the twisted house is cool. I would like to have that by my firepit.
